Turning over a new leaf…

Posted by superwoman On January - 18 - 20101 COMMENT

With all the projects I have under my belt, it’s not surprising I work a ridiculous number of hours each day. I never thought much of it until this weekend. Do I really need to spend ALL that time working? If I managed my day better, could I have more hours with the kids? More hours with my husband? A tidy(ish) house? Yesterday I created an action plan, which started today. Now, it’s not in full swing yet, as the house is in a state. The action plan allows small amounts of time for cleaning... (more...)

2009’s Top Five!

Posted by superwoman On December - 29 - 2009ADD COMMENTS

2009 has been such a fantastic year in the life of little old me, and so very hard to sum up in a blog post. So to avoid unnecessary waffle, I will be treating you all to a whole host of leader board style top fives. I feel the top 5 people need a little explanation, but aside from that I will refrain from waffling! Top 5 People I’ve Met: Laura Rigney: My new, and totally awesome, business partner. My future wouldn’t be as bright if I hadn’t met her! Natalie Hickey: Amazing business... (more...)

My Noughties in a Nutshell

Posted by superwoman On December - 29 - 20093 COMMENTS

Ok, is it possible to fit a decade into a nutshell? It’s the first decade I’ve been old enough to remember it all, so I fancy a bit of a round up of all that I have achieved and what I’ve been proud of. The first few may be a little… boring. 2000: Now in this year I was 12/13. The most exciting experience in 2000 was going to Normandy with the school. I won the scrapbook competition, and won a bowl with yellow fish on… Clearly an insight into my artist future. I have... (more...)

Why my husband is the best husband in the world!

Posted by superwoman On December - 23 - 20092 COMMENTS

It’s a fact. My husband is the best husband in the world. Why, I hear you ask? He works so hard, often leaving for work before the rest of the house stirs, and coming home just before bedtime. On the days he’s not working, it’s often working for me. When he does eventually get home, he cooks dinner every single day. And he’ll cook whatever I ask for. A couple of weeks ago, Chris offered to cook dinner for just me, and asked what I wanted. I said “Cottage Pie” just... (more...)

As one year ends, another begins…

Posted by superwoman On December - 22 - 20092 COMMENTS

So 2009 is drawing to a close. This year has been a pretty weird one. Some fantastic and wonderful high moments, the best in business! And some very huge business challenges, challenges I hoped I’d never have to face, but in a way I’m glad I did. My proudest achievements and happiest moments of 2009 are: - Organising my first Baby Fair singlehandedly in June, and getting 1000 people through the door - Organising The Mumpreneur Conference and Awards 2009 in October within about 6 weeks -... (more...)

Bah Humbug

Posted by superwoman On December - 22 - 2009ADD COMMENTS

I’m not sure when I turned into the Bah Humbug type. Maybe it was when I realised Santa wasn’t real anymore. Maybe it’s when I became the Santa and had to make it all real and magically for Ella. Maybe it’s when I was pregnant and grumpy one Christmas. Maybe it’s when I had given birth just days before and wasn’t up for the whole Christmas Day thing. Maybe it happened when suddenly Christmas was not fun and enjoyable, but a time of financial hardship , frantic... (more...)

Mac the Marmite?

Following a really vicious virus on my beloved PC yesterday (which is only about 18 months old, and is a dang good PC) I made the brave decision (I’ve been putting it off for so many months!) to buy an iMac. Credit check went through fine (LOVE IT!), and box DID eventually fit in the car (LOVE IT!). Got it out the box (LOVE IT!). Turned it on (Totally LOVE IT!). Set it up (LOVE IT!). Downloaded Tweetdeck… Clearly THE most important thing (LOVE IT!). I wake up this morning and decide to... (more...)

My (not-such-a) Baby Girl

Posted by superwoman On December - 15 - 2009ADD COMMENTS

In a few minutes time, when the clock strikes midnight, my baby girl will officially be 2 years old. I’ve never been the type to be all sentimental, but for some reason, right now I am… and I think I know the reason why. On Ella’s 2nd Birthday, Joey was just 4 months old, so she was my big girl. On Joey’s 2nd Birthday, Isabel was just 2 months old, so he was the big brother. Isabel is turning 2, and she is still my baby girl. Baby #4 is WAY overdue! Haha. Christmas Time The... (more...)
